Grief and loss Counselling
Book Today
Loss can show up in many ways
the death of someone you love
changes in your health,
even the loss of a sense of who you are.
Grief is personal and unique, and there’s no “right” way to feel or process it. At Calm Studios, I provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your feelings, honour your story, and begin to find meaning again.
Understanding Grief at Different Stages of Life
How we experience loss changes as we move through life. Everyone’s journey is different, and I tailor support to your age, experiences, and needs:
Children (5–12 years): Young children often express grief through play, behaviour, or emotions rather than words. Together, we create space for them to explore their feelings safely, using creative and age-appropriate ways to process what’s happened.
Adolescents (13–18 years): Teenagers may feel sadness, guilt, or even isolation. Counselling helps them navigate their emotions, relationships, and identity, while giving them tools to cope in a way that respects their growing independence.
Young Adults (18–30 years): Loss during this stage can feel overwhelming, especially when it intersects with life transitions, relationships, or self-discovery. I work with you to make sense of grief, support emotional regulation, and help integrate loss into your life story.
Adults (30–65 years): Life is full of responsibilities and changes, and grief can appear alongside work, family, or health challenges. Together, we explore strategies to cope, reflect on your experiences, and find ways to move forward while honouring what’s been lost.
Seniors (65+ years): Later in life, grief may come from the loss of independence, friends, or partners. Counselling focuses on processing cumulative loss, supporting wellbeing, and finding connection and purpose as life continues to change.
